The inverted-ILM flap technique is performed to increase the probability of macular hole closure in challenging cases such as large or chronic holes, or those caused by trauma or high myopia. The technique involves covering the macular hole with an inverted remnant of ILM, which is left attached to the margins of the macular hole during ILM peeling. This presentation will describe the surgical technique, consider its rationale and analyse its outcomes.
